چکیده
Brain simulation, as one of the latest advances in artificial intelligence, facilitates better understanding about how information is represented and processed brain. The extreme complexity human brain makes simulations only feasible on high-performance computing platforms. Supercomputers with a large number interconnected graphical processing units (GPUs) are currently employed for supporting simulations. Therefore, high-throughput low-latency inter-GPU communications super-computers play crucial role meeting performance requirements simulation highly time-sensitive application. In this article, we first provide an overview current parallelizing technologies using multi-GPU architectures. Then analyze challenges to summarize guidelines communication design address such challenges. Furthermore, propose partitioning algorithm two-level routing method achieve efficient architecture simulation. We report experiment results obtained supercomputer 2000 GPUs simulating model 10 billion neurons (digital twin brain, DTB) show that our approach can significantly improve performance. also discuss open issues identify some research directions

Blind Demixing for Low-Latency Communication
In the next generation wireless networks, lowlatency communication is critical to support emerging diversified applications, e.g., Tactile Internet and Virtual Reality. In this paper, a novel blind demixing approach is developed to reduce the channel signaling overhead, thereby supporting low-latency communication. Specifically, we develop a low-rank approach to recover the original information...
متن کاملDesign of a Low-Latency Router Based on Virtual Output Queuing and Bypass Channels for Wireless Network-on-Chip
Wireless network-on-chip (WiNoC) is considered as a novel approach for designing future multi-core systems. In WiNoCs, wireless routers (WRs) utilize high-bandwidth wireless links to reduce the transmission delay between the long distance nodes. When the network traffic loads increase, a large number of packets will be sent into the wired and wireless links and can...
متن کاملPupa: A Low-Latency Communication System for Fast Ethernet
Pupa is a low-latency communication system that provides the same quality of message delivery as TCP but is designed speci cally for a parallel computing cluster connected by a 100 Mbits/sec Fast Ethernet. The implementation has been operational for over a year, and several systems have been built on top of Pupa, including a compiler-directed distributed shared virtual memory system, Locust , a...
متن کاملPerformance Results for a Reliable Low-Latency Cluster Communication Protocol
Existing low-latency protocols make unrealistically strong assumptions about reliability. This allows them to achieve impressive performance, but also prevents this performance being exploited by applications, which must then deal with reliability issues in the application code. We present results from a new protocol that provides error recovery, and whose performance is close to that of existi...
متن کاملA Rudimentary Model for Low-Latency Anonymous Communication Systems
In this paper we present a rudimentary model for low-latency anonymous communication systems. Specifically, we study distributed OR algorithm as an abstract of the system. Based on our model, we give several satisfactory lower bounds of anonymity leakage of a deterministic OR algorithm. Some of them reveal a trade-off between anonymity and communication complexity. For the randomized OR algorit...
